New Boilers in Durham
The beautiful city of Durham is situated 13 miles to the south west of Sunderland. The River Wear flows north through the city, meandering in a curve that encloses the centre on three sides to form Durham’s peninsula. At the base of the peninsula is the Market Place, which still holds regular markets and a permanent indoor market is situated just off the Market Place. The Market Place and surrounding streets are one of the main shopping areas of the city. From the Market Place, the Bailey leads south past Palace Green, the site of the majestic Cathedral and Castle.
Durham is a hilly city, with claims of being built upon the symbolic seven hills. The cathedral dominates the skyline on the most central and prominent position high above the Wear. The steep riverbanks are abundantly covered in woodland, adding to the picturesque beauty of the city. Anyone connected, however loosely, with Durham over the last ten years will probably have heard the following Bill Bryson quote: ‘If you have never been to Durham before, go there at once. Take my car, it’s wonderful.’ The historical city centre of Durham has changed little over the past 200 years, being made up of the peninsula containing the cathedral, Palace Green, former administrative buildings for the palatine and Durham Castle.
With such a historic and beautiful city to work in, we always ensure that our gas boiler installations cause as little disruption to the area as possible. We know how proud this city’s inhabitants are of their surroundings and we also know that they will not compromise on quality, which is one of the reasons why our remedial and replacement boiler projects are so well received by the populace and why our testimonials and return visits to the city are so high.
